Elsie Taliaferro Hill is an Assistant Professor of Art in the Betty Foy Sanders Department of Art at Georgia Southern University. Hill earned a B.F.A. from the Rhode Island School of Design and worked as a commission portrait artist for twelve years. Hill received her M.F.A. from the School of the Arts at Columbia University in New York City, where she lived and worked as an artist for six years. During that time, she was represented by the Nabi Gallery and participated in several solo and group exhibitions. Hill’s work has been exhibited nationally and her accolades include Second Place in the Armstrong National 2-D Competition, Armstrong Atlantic State University; Natural Resource Defense Council Environmental Art Award Finalist; D’Arcy Hayman Scholarship and Agnes Martin Fellowship, Columbia University.
