‘Dinner with Darla’ Preview Event at Moore Farms Botanical Gardens a Success!

Sixty lucky guests were invited to Moore Farms Botanical Gardens in Lake City on November 3 for a special ArtFields preview event. Attendees began the evening with a tour of the lush botanical gardens. Plein air painters showed off their skills by painting the beautiful surroundings. Artists’ work was later auctioned to raise funds for the festival. Then, attendees enjoyed a garden reception followed by dinner by Callie White of Callie’s Southern Biscuits and dessert.

Organizers were very pleased with the turnout and raised $100,000 in sponsorships for ArtFields. If you are interested in sponsoring ArtFields, visit our Sponsorship page for more information.

Notes the Botanical Gardens website:  ”nestled among fields of corn and soybeans, this dynamic 35 acre garden is set in the rural Pee Dee region near Lake City, South Carolina. Embracing its Southern pastoral setting through an informal, expressive design scheme, the garden is a careful blend of exuberant plant displays, bounding meadows and enduring vistas of grey green pines. Woven throughout this aesthetic tapestry are innovative research, educational programs and community outreach. The resulting union of art and scholarship is a dazzling example of the modern botanical garden.”
