Treelee Mac Ann has been an art professor for 37 years; she is currently a Professor of Art at Coastal Carolina University in Conway, SC. She completed her BA in printmaking from the State University of New York at Oswego and earned her MFA from Bowling Green State University (OH) with a major in printmaking and a minor in drawing and photography. Her work has won numerous awards and has been featured in juried international, national, regional, and selected exhibits throughout her career.
Her forte is screenprinting. She appreciates the rich surface qualities of screenprinting and her screenprints may involve as many as 50-150 layers of ink in order to achieve depth, subtle color variations, and a surface quality not generally associated with screenprinting.
In recent years she has been investigating photopolymer intaglio printmaking, a non-toxic printmaking method that exhibits qualities of both traditional lithography and intaglio.
