I graduated from Georgia State University with a degree in Music Composition in 2015 with a concentration in experimental and electronic music. While in college I was fortunate enough to participate in a National Student Exchange at Queens College in NYC. There I was exposed to different ways of approaching art forms and challenging ideas about performance. I am interested in performer and audience member roles and have written music pieces with those aspects in mind. For example, I wrote a piece for violin and blind audience members where I passed out blindfolds to spectators as they walked into the space. I liked the idea of experiencing live music without ever seeing the performer and the tension that created. In this piece, Flowers,I use myself and body as a subject to explore identity and sensuality. I strive to fuse experience and art to create performative conditions in which to reach higher states of consciousness and understanding for me and an audience. Art as a conduit to a finer self and greater love.
