Aldo Muzzarelli is a Venezuelan born artist (1963) and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Central University of Venezuela, (Caracas).
Aldo Muzzarelli is an active creator and a tireless researcher. He worked as an illustrator at the Inter-American Center of Languages (CID-Caracas) and was an animator on several films produced by the Film Department at the University of Los Andes. He served for several years as Director of Culture of his hometown and taught at training workshops in fine arts all around Venezuela.
He feels a need for experimentation and a fascination for ancient art, particularly from the Renaissance, leading him to perform specialized studies in Spain (Fresco Painting Techniques, Restoration of Paintings on Canvas, Stained Glass and Grisailles).
Between 2007 and 2009 he lived in Coral Gables, Florida, where he frequented the atelier of the great Venezuelan master Abdón Romero.
Back in Venezuela (2010), Aldo created several monumental works for the Cathedral of San Pedro in Caracas and he opened his own gallery in Tinaquillo.
In culmination, his famous Venezuelan leitmotiv (butterflies), earned him the nickname "Painter of Butterflies."
Aldo Muzzarelli has participated in individual and group exhibitions in Venezuela, the United States, Spain, and Italy, earning awards and recognition.
He currently resides in Mauldin, South Carolina, and divides his time and work between Venezuela, the United States and Spain.
