Pamela Oliveras grew up in London, UK and has lived in NYC, San Diego, and Okinawa. Now she lives in Charleston with her husband, two children and three rescue dogs.
She lives here, in this world, with these colours, in this light. She lives within the art everyday life, wherever that may be. She loves to travel, even if it’s just down the road. It’s the little things that make up the day and inspire my photography: a wave splashing, a puffy cloud, a patina door, light reflecting through the trees. Photography is her medicine. It’s her way of belonging and connecting with others, the world and herself.
People inspire Pamela. As do urban streets, bold colors, textures, shape, light and connection...even the mundane stuff can become a photography project – as long as it resonates with a connection and a feeling.
She is here in this world trying to find my piece of peace. Art and photography fulfill that for her.
Apart from the places she has lived – she has traveled to India, Morocco, Israel, Sinai Desert, Tokyo, Kyoto, Singapore, Thailand, Maui, Oahu, and etc.
She is published in a number of magazines and has an Etsy shop called The Wave Tree. Her most recent “claim to fame” is a street shot adorning NYC bus billboards for Delta airlines – which is super cool as NYC was her first American home! She loves to present her work on metal as she loves how vibrant it is.
She hopes you enjoy her photography and hopes it evokes some kind of soulful vibe as it did for her while shooting it.
