Treelee MacAnn has been an art professor for 37 years; she is currently a Professor of Art at Coastal Carolina University in Conway, SC. She completed her BA in printmaking from the State University of New York at Oswego and earned her MFA from Bowling Green State University (OH) with a major in printmaking and a minor in drawing and photography. Her work has won numerous awards and has been featured in juried international, national, regional, and selected exhibits throughout her career.
Her forte is screen-printing. She appreciates the rich surface qualities of screen-printing and her screen-prints may involve as many as 30 to 50 layers of ink to achieve depth, subtle color variations, and a surface quality not generally associated with screen-printing.
For over a decade she has been investigating photopolymer intaglio printmaking, a non-toxic printmaking method that exhibits qualities of both traditional lithography and intaglio.
