Greenville, SC
Zac Buser was born in Knoxville, TN, but spent most of his childhood in central Pennsylvania. His family relocated to Greenville, SC, where he studied both ceramics and music theory at the Fine Arts Center. Buser later received a BA from the College of Charleston (double major in studio art and classical guitar performance) and a MFA from Clemson University. His BA artwork focused primarily on painting and drawing while his MFA thesis incorporated sculpture, painting, and printmaking. While at the College of Charleston he was highly influenced by the classical figurative work of Jon Michel and is indebted greatly during his master’s studies to the teachings of David Dietrich. Buser’s works are held in collections in both Europe and the United States. He is currently the chair of the art department at North Greenville University where he has the privilege of interacting daily with artists and seeks the goal of developing their conceptual, technical, and spiritual maturity.
