Lain York is a Nashville, TN native, a painter, and graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
York’s work can be found in the permanent collections of EMI Los Angeles, the Savannah College of Art, The Tennessee State Museum, and the Metropolitan Nashville Arts Commission among others. His work has been published in “New American Paintings,” “New York Arts” magazine, "Nashville Arts” magazine, “Art Papers,” and online blogs such as “Two Coats of Paint,” "Painter’s Table,” and was nominated for a Joan Mitchell Foundation Award.
York is currently on the board of Fugitive Projects and has worked with numerous public art, university, and independent artist programs including Vanderbilt University, the Metropolitan Nashville Arts Commission, the Greater Nashville Arts Foundation, Arts in the Airport, and the Frist Center for the Visual Arts. He currently coordinates exhibitions for artists with disabilities at the Kennedy Center on Vanderbilt Campus.
