Columbia, SC, artist Doni Jordan creates mixed media assemblages, collages, art installations and fiber art. She received a BFA in studio art from the University of South Carolina (USC). In 2010, she was inducted into the National Association of Women Artists (NAWA) in New York City.
Jordan’s love of nature, travel, design and typography is reflected in the art she creates. In the last few years, her work has evolved from assemblages and collages created from man-made objects to natural elements. Her current work is nature inspired which includes eco printing.
In 2017, Jordan’s installation of over 400 dried botanicals was included in Artfields, a premiere Southeastern juried art exhibition in Lake City, SC, in the Jones Carter Gallery. Her work was also included in Artfields 2016 and 2015. In 2016, Jordan was included in Independent Spirits: Women Artists of South Carolina at the Columbia Museum of Art, Columbia, SC, featuring 30 SC women artists in conjunction with the Georgia O'Keeffe exhibition. Her work was also included in an art installation at Columbia College titled Envisioning O'Keeffe and her piece was selected for the permanent collection of the college. She was also included in the 2016 Palmetto Hands Fine Craft Exhibition in North Charleston, SC.
