An Alabama native, Raymond Gaddy received his MFA in Painting from the University of Alabama. He has worked and taught throughout the Southeast, but has settled in Savannah where he is an Assistant Professor of Painting and Drawing at Armstrong State University. His work focuses on the youthful narratives and conflicts of growing up in the deep South.
He has exhibited throughout the country and received numerous awards including a Joan Mitchell Foundation grant and a Pollock-Krasner Foundation grant. Gaddy's work is included in numerous public and private collections including the Savannah College of Art and Design, the University of Notre-Dame, Maryland and the Library of Congress.
