An Engaging Community Engagement Celebration!

Last night, the first official ArtFields event took place, a Community Engagement Celebration! All those at the Lake City Partnership Council have been so anxious to share all that they have been planning. The event was an opportunity to engage and inform the community about ArtFields. It was overwhelmingly exciting and inspiring….AND, a LOT OF FUN!

Sharon Askins and Karen Fowler received the very special guests at the doors with smiles and hugs, catching up with friends old and new. Carlie Lynch and Carla Angus manned the name tag booth, engaging our guests with one another and aiding in the building of new relationships.

Catering for All Occasions created a wonderful menu from local fruits, vegetables, and herbs, beginning the night’s menu of culinary delights with a specialty cocktail, Painter’s Punch.

Taronda Jordan invited everyone to ‘make their mark’ on the first piece of ArtFields artwork as they entered into the party. This piece will continue to be present at gatherings and celebrations between now and the start of the event on April 19, 2013.

Jim Fields welcomed all and introduced Darla Moore who gave a warm and wonderful address to the crowd. She shared how proud and happy her father, a Lake City agricultural legend, would have been to see the folks of his community gathered together in the name of progress. Karen Fowler then followed her up by sharing plans for the ten days of exciting events and creative opportunities that will be incorporated into ArtFields.

Heather Barrie & Kristin Newman manned the GET INVOLVED booth, sharing information on how to become a part of the experience through sponsorship, art entry, providing a host venue, volunteer services and attending in on the fun.
