Just moved to downtown Lake City. I enjoyed every day of Artfields, loved sharing a super community with my friends and family. Which by the way were very impressed with the whole event. Thanks for making us proud to be from LC. Definitely will volunteer again. In the meantime text if you need me.
Absolutely amazing! Thanks y’all … the city of Lake City, the organizers/funders/venues of ArtFields, the crew, the volunteers, and to all my fellow artists!
Every time I visited Lake City during ArtFields 2015, there was so much to explore and discover. From the architectural history of the city (as seen in the craftsmanship of the buildings – particularly the masonry buildings) to the diversity of accepted work for this year’s event, and I look forward to the evolution of this city. The organization of this massive endeavor was so spot-on … impressive that the staff is so considerate of every one involved. And what a great way to foster a spirit of volunteerism … hope it transcends into the population of this little diamond of a town, throughout the year, in may other ways to the benefit of it’s residents.
As to the awards given out this year … very thoughtfully and smartly chosen. Good going judges!
This is my first year to enter/participate. I hope to be a part of this event for as long as I live within the region. I have gained so much insight with the ArtFields experience.
Just one suggestion: Could you consider making space at a few venues (for example: there’s plenty room to do this at the R.O.B.) … for the promotional material (postcard, 5X7 maximum size) of each artist, so that visitors could have a take-away from each artist (just in case they may have overlooked a venue). It would be a perfect way to interconnect/unite/create a bond with the different venue locations.
Also, the new Inn on Main … great place to stay!
Love looking at all the art but also love looking at all the beautifully planted gardens – would love it all the more if a few of the more unusual plants could be labeled. Just a suggestion. Thanks for putting on a wonderful event 😉
I have been all three years to Artfields and I am so excited at the way it has grown. The first 2 years we have come from Columbia and just stayed one day. We have never felt that we had enough time. This year we stayed at the Inn at Crossroads for 2 nights. We ate at more restaurants, shopped at more stores, went to the garden tour, went to more exhibits and events and still did not have enough time. But it all was such a delightful and less rushed experience. We even had time to share wine and quiet talks with friends we ran into.
Thanks for all of the creative opportunities for southern artists, for the town of Lake City and of course mostly for the visitors. We will come again because the concept of Artfields makes it different every year.
We particularly were fascinated with the portrait contest. We did however have to leave town before it was finished. I think it would be helpful to post online the winners (with Pictures) of all the events including the portrait contest. Also how were the honorable mentions chosen?
Great job by all.
