ArtFields® Portrait Contest Calls for Artists

ArtFields, the South’s most engaging art competition and festival, is seeking artists for its fourth annual portrait contest to be held on Saturday, April 30, 2016. Twenty-four artists will be selected to create portraits of local educators and compete for cash prizes.

Artists of all levels from the 12 Southeastern states (Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia) are eligible to apply.

To qualify, interested artists must apply online by March 18. There is a $35 non-refundable application fee. A panel of art professionals will review all submissions. Accepted artists will be notified on Friday, March 25.

The contest will consist of three timed elimination rounds. Prizes to be awarded to top artists include First Prize ($1,000), Second Prize ($500) and Third Prize ($250). Artists may sell their portraits after the contest with all proceeds going directly to the artists.

The ArtFields Portrait Contest will be held at the Bean Market (111 Henry Street, Lake City, SC) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The contest is a separate event from the ArtFields main competition consisting of nearly 400 selected works from the Southeastern states.
