Three Rivers Historical Society, a non-profit historical society established in 1976, recently located to West Main St in the historic district of Lake City. Named for the three rivers defining the region served – the Pee Dee River, the Black River, and Lynches River, the goal is to collect, preserve and protect the information and records of the early settlers, history, land and people of the area. The archives are open to the public and numerous records are available for genealogical research. An all volunteer staff provides assistance.
