Portrait Battle Set for Last Weekend of ArtFields

We are excited to announce the confirmation of our newest event, A Portrait Battle. This event will take place on Saturday, April 27 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Green. This competition will test the skill and mettle of 36-48 artists competing to become the ArtFields Portrait Battle Champion of 2013! The competition is open to all artists, all skill levels and all mediums from painting to sculpture! Paying homage to Lake City’s agricultural heritage, the Portrait Battle’s subjects will be farmers.
How the Battle Works & How To Enter
Artists will be paired off randomly and will have a designated model. A table will be provided for each pair of artists during each round. A round lasts for 1 hour. Portraits are judged immediately after each round and the winners will be announced 15 minutes after the round has ended. There will be a 20 minute to 30 minute break between rounds for reassignment and rearranging of tables.
Artists are responsible for their own medium, utensils and art surfaces. There is a size limitation of 5 feet by 5 feet (5’ x 5’) and a $35 registration fee. If any artists are concerned about their medium, please contact the ArtFields Art Team for review at ArtTeam@ArtFieldssc.org.
