My exploration of this piece started with my interest in the western feel of architecture and the concept of horsemanship. This piece is a part of a body of work which started with a drawing of a horse inside of a barn. When drawing the barn, half of a wooden door was also in the frame. As that was my first time drawing wood, this project inspired me to further investigate the texture of wood.
