Pain is a universal experience but one simple chromosomal difference can invite a whole different level of pain. Endometriosis is a uterine condition where tissue that is similar to the lining of the uterus grows on the outside of the uterus. This is a condition that can bring a lot of pain and agony to women who have it, which happens in about 6.5 million women in the U.S. I wanted to invite discussion to women's struggles within their reproductive system with a piece that evokes thought and expression. With the painterly approach, I layered reds, browns, and more grimy colors on top of greens to show an invasion of pain on a natural organ.
