Celebrating Southern Art In Lake City, SC
The South's Most Engaging Art Competition and Festival
ArtFields started in 2013 with a simple goal: honor the artists of the Southeast with a week’s worth of celebration and competition in the heart of a traditional Southern small town. Since then ArtFields has grown into an entire organization with year round programming that celebrates art!
Now, the annual ArtFields Competition and Festival has become a staple of the region and offers over $100,000 in cash prizes. The winners of two People’s Choice Awards are determined by the votes of people visiting ArtFields; a panel of art professionals selects all the other awards, including the $50,000 Grand Prize and $25,000 Second Place award.
Up to 400 works of art will be on display in locally-owned venues, from renovated 1920s warehouses and professional art spaces, to the history museum, the Ronald E. McNair Life History Center, restaurants, boutiques and other shops. Additionally, the ArtFields Jr. Statewide Art Competition features hundreds more artworks from talented South Carolina students in grades 1 -12. During the ArtFields Competition & Festival, what was once one of South Carolina’s most prosperous agricultural communities becomes a living art gallery as we recognize, celebrate and share the artistic talent of the Southeast.
Attend The Festival
Welcome to the 2025 Competition & Festival! We can’t wait for you to experience the magic of a town rallying around art. All of our art venues are open 10AM to 7PM each day of the festival except on Sunday, when hours are 1 – 6PM. We recommend you start your journey at our Festival Welcome Center at 110 E. Main Street where you can pick up a field guide, hard copy of the map, and purchase merchandise before you hit the town to enjoy the art.

Be Part of the Art
We’re seeking enthusiastic individuals of all ages to join our volunteer team. From greeting guests in our reception center and galleries to hosting visiting artists, staging artwork for exhibitions, and assisting with events, there’s a place for everyone to shine.
If you have questions throughout the festival, don’t hesitate to ask one of our volunteers. Whether you need directions to a venue, need a recommendation on a restaurant, or want to know more about ArtFields and all our year round activities, our volunteers are excited to help you!
