I was honored to have had the opportunity to document the steps Jo Jeffers, a Florence, S.C. artist, takes to make her beautiful pottery. Jo created cups and bowls during a recent photo shoot in her studio. The artist’s daughter, Lou, kept referring to this photo as ‘mom’s hands,’ so I titled it as such. This photo stands out from the rest in the series because it shows both softness and toughness, as well as movement, creativity and hard work.
