Kelly Oakes is a professional painter and art teacher. Her figure paintings and portraits capture that quiet but expressive moment, showing the viewer the essence of the model’s soul. Working mostly from life, Kelly’s art has an honest, fresh quality.

Kelly has exhibited her work both locally and nationally including Side Tracks Gallery in New Hope, PA and Firefish Gallery in Charlottesville, VA. She is an exhibiting member of the McGuffey Art Center and her paintings hang in many collections nationwide.

Kelly has been widely featured in many publications including: Better Homes and Gardens, The Daily Progress, Albemarle Magazine, and the C-Ville Weekly.

Oakes holds a Bachelor's in Fine Arts degree from The Maryland Institute of Art and has studied at the Parsons School of Design and The Art Students League in New York.
