Rory Doyle, a Maine native, is a working photographer based in Cleveland, Mississippi -- the heart of the Mississippi Delta.
Doyle seeks out alternative stories in an area most known for its black and white history. His projects highlight populations in the Mississippi Delta that are often overlooked or underserved.
Recent work includes an ongoing documentary project on African-American cowboys and cowgirls in the rural Mississippi Delta, and a long-term photo essay on the growing Latino population in the region.
Doyle works for a number of editorial and commercial clients. His publication list includes The New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, The Atlantic, ESPN, Getty Images, Photo District News, Yahoo News, Forbes, Features Shoot, Oxford Americanm, Vox Media and Financial Times.
Doyle has twice assisted Ron Haviv, photographer and co-founder of VII, during an instensive documentary photography course for Barefoot Workshops in Clarksdale, Mississippi.
