Barrie Kaufman's work in the media of prints, painting and sculpture to address a narrative story. Currently she focuses on the environment in West Virginia bringing attention to issues surrounding water and the destructive environment. She has won Awards and Grants from The Kentucky Foundation for Women, The Painted Bride, Philadelphia, The Mid Atlantic Foundation Fellowship for The Virginia Center For The Creative Arts 2018 and 2009, West Virginia Artist of the Year 2014, Wva Fellowship for Painting and Crafts, Residency at The Pittsburgh Glass Center and Presse Papier Print Studio, Quebec. Exhibiting one woman shows at Sothebys , Stockholm Sweden,The Pittsburgh Center for the Arts, Huntington Museum of Art, Juliet Museum of Art Charleston , Wva and SOFA Chicago. Her work is in permanent collections at The Taipei Fine Art Museum, Rutgers University Print Archive, The State of West Virginia, Huntington Museum of Art, Marshall University, and The Juliet Museum of Art.
