Mo Regulinski was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at age 3. Through her art she provides a visual narrative on the day to day maintenance of chronic health. Mo creates wearable art from her own sanitized diabetes medical disposables. Her work gives visual credence to health challenges and represents positive aspects of healthy living in American culture. Using fashion to represent the body, she creates a patient perspective on health. Mo’s mission is to make art that inspires dynamic self–empowerment and visualizes the power of healthy-living choices. Her work has been exhibited by the National Institute of Health, VCU Health, the Virginia Museum of Fine Art, the Valentine History Center, the American Diabetes Association, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and Beyond Type 1 Art Basal. Mo collaborates with community programs using art and creativity to explore health advocacy. She is a teaching artist in Virginia. Creative expression and positive action, are her mantra.
