Marietta, GA
Tokie (Rome) Taylor is a native of Atlanta, Ga. who earned her B.A. in Art Education from Morris Brown College. She went on to earn a Masters in Curriculum and a Specialist in Technology at Lesley University. Her works explore the figure through the use of portraiture. Her artwork has ranged from capturing the likes of Coretta Scott King, African American empowerment, to narrative surreal portraiture. Her fine art portraiture and narrative surreal portraits have been featured in several galleries and shows including the Zuckerman Art Museum, Callanwolde Fine Art Center, Photo Buckhead, The Atlanta Airport Photography Exhibit, the ArtXchange and the Mable House Art Center. She has been featured in several magazines and has a solo show forthcoming at Maloof Gallery scheduled for March 2020. Her commissioned work is held in several private collections as well as by the Fulton County Arts Council.
