My work is about exploring tangible and intangible spaces. Tangible spaces being rooms, houses, bodies, things that we experience on physical levels. Intangible spaces are without set form and are otherwise unseen, such as memories and emotions. I think of my work as a way to apply the idea that there is an introspective space that we occupy and to suspend it for observation. The cuts in the material are absences that create both a fragile surface and a way to see beyond the physicality of the object and into a created space within the piece. I do this in an attempt to evoke a sense of the sublime- a limitless experience that creates a sense of wonder when rendered physical and interacted with.
