I grew up and currently live in Summerville South Carolina. I earned my BFA in 1995, from USC in Art Education. In 2005, I received a Masters from Virginia Commonwealth University. At VCU I studied textile dying and quilting. My thesis show consisted of several art quilts and hand dyed fabric. In 2006 I moved back to Summerville and have taught art in elementary, middle and high school. In May 2020, SAQA, Studio Art Quilters Association, picked one of my quilts for its first ever virtual show titled “On the Edge.” In 2019, I had a quilt exhibited at Sacred Threads in Herndon, Virginia. The quilt is now traveling to shows throughout the US for the next two years. In 2018, I exhibited a quilt and painting in ArtFields. Most of my time and art energy are focused on children. Children will advocate for the arts if they are exposed to culture. I hope to help grow a society that will long to travel and never pass up the opportunity to go to a museum.
