Intricate and precise twined silver-plated wire interspaced with forged tips formed into striking shapes. Each vessel conveys a sense of peace, beauty, innovation, and order. Lee has twice won Best in Show and Top Purchase Award in the Professional Division of the S.C. State Fair Fine Arts Juried Exhibition. Many other Best in Shows awards have been given including the S.C. Craft’s Association Ninth Annual Juried Exhibition, Palmetto Hands, and Carolina’s Got Art – 2010. Her work can be found in the Mint Museum of Craft + Design in Charlotte, North Carolina, Huntsville Museum of Art, Huntsville, Alabama, the Marriott Collection, the Lander University Collection, and the South Carolina State Museum.
Lee creates her work by twining five strands of very fine copper or silver-plated wire around copper spokes. The tips of the spokes are melted and either left in a ball shape or hammered flat. She shapes each piece as she builds it.
