Lynn Pierson

Born in south Florida, I was educated in the South, Midwest and Northeast, including study abroad in Europe.  Receiving a strong visual arts background in my early college career, with a focus in fashion illustration, I earned my BFA degree in painting from Northern Illinois University.  

Since returning to Florida, I have been active in various community, area and statewide arts organizations. My work has been exhibited in all-Florida museum and art center exhibits and, recently, further afield.



While traditional approaches continue to inform my process, experimentation with different mediums, tools and materials is central to my practice. My current work is an on-going exploration of perception and how it is interpreted as conveyed through the filter of memory. I often incorporate the motif of a chair as a metaphor for this exploration - a “conveyance of memory,” if you will.
