Anne Boudreau is a visual artist, arts educator and a native of New Orleans. She currently resides in Lafayette, Louisiana. Her formal education includes an Associate of Arts degree from Delgado Community College, a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in photography from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and a Master of Fine Arts degree in painting and sculpture from the University of South Carolina. Boudreau has been an artist member of the Baton Rouge Gallery Center for Contemporary Art since 1997.
She makes rigid and soft relief and suspended three-dimensional forms using a variety of materials (wire, twine, foam-rubber, polyester fiber, fabric, sewing notions, acrylic paint, etc.). Her processes include wire bending, foam sculpting, patterning, fabric manipulation, hand and machine sewing and binding techniques. Much like the forces of nature, her forms are fragile yet stable. The installation of her work in the physical space is an integral part of her creative process.
