I am a first time mom of a two year old boy. I wanted to give him everything I have. I want to show him as long as you put your mind into something you will achieve your goal. However, while trying to achieve my own goal, I sometimes feel like I am selfish. I spend so much time trying to create while trying to be a better mom. My husband supports me with my artistic passion but he also reminded me that family should still be first. Although balancing life as a mother and as an artist is hard, I am still asking myself if what I am doing right now is the right choice. I am thinking about these issues while painting this self portrait of us and reflecting myself and noticing the attachment that we have. This is my first time including my husband in the painting because he doesn't understand what art means to me, it makes it hard for me to have him in my artistic world. However, I am trying to bring him into my paintings when I am thinking about my little family that I am building.
