This piece is a tribute to my wife, Amber, who is an amazing Nurse that worked in the ICU during the worst of COVID. Each day of the Pandemic/Quarantine, she fought valiantly in an uphill battle for her patients lives. While hospitals were running out of supplies and beds, and nurses were overworked and pushed to a breaking point, she still showed up and bravely did her job. I wanted to create this piece in tribute to Amber to highlight her strong work ethic, her intelligence, and her resilience. This piece also tells the story of how I believe black women are our future. They are quickly becoming the most educated, driven change makers in this country. As a society, we need to get out of their way and uplift them as they lead us into the future.
