Kirsten Stingle’s narrative sculptures confront a modern paradox: a globally connected world that heightens individual isolation and a superficial understanding of our place in the world. Her work cuts highlights common threads of the human experience through storytelling, creating a dialogue with the viewer to promote a greater mutual understanding. The protagonist in each sculpture is the hand-built porcelain figure, with special emphasis on the communication tools of gesture and expression. Through collaboration with other mediums she transforms a variety of disparate techniques into a seamless narrative vision.
Stingle has been represented in national and international museum exhibitions and has participated in international high-end exhibitions for more than ten years. Her work is found in the permanent collections of the Macon Museum of Arts and Sciences, the Kapp Foundation, the Addams Family Foundation, Cafesjian Foundation, and Windgate Center for Art and Design.
