Artist Statement

I awoke one morning a few weeks ago with the completed image of this painting fresh in my mind. Even in my dream the painting measured 48x60" and I felt compelled to create the painting exactly like I saw it in my dream. A looming summer storm dwarfs a farm and newly mown bales of hay while lightening and the rumble of thunder fills the air.

I have been creating art for most of my 79 years, I have published a book on working with Pastels, "Soft Pastel, the Ultimate Workshop: which has been sold worldwide. I continue to teach exciting and innovative workshops in oil and pastel throughout the Southeast and have been the recipient of several awards for my work and have been included in many shows both Nationally and Internationally.
