This art piece examines the dichotomy of the South's best intentions and worst inclinations through the allegory of pop culture icon, Dolly Parton. Inspired by Botticelli's 'Primavera' a fete of seven deified 'Dolly's' is depicted from left to right as: Mercury (far left) lassoes a rainbow (colors represented in the Progress Flag) The Three Graces as the Three Ages of her life (1960's, 1980's and 2000's) Venus wreathed in butterflies and with a patched mantle in metamorphosis. Flora distributing books (representative of her literacy philanthropy through the Imagination Library) and sheets of music, artistic beneficence. Where she steps, kudzu burns away and native species of plants grow in her wake. Chloris (far right) dressed in the colors of the American flag is pursued by Confederate/Kudzu/ Monoculture Monster as Zephyr. Kudzu envelopes the scene, whose monocultural danger to the natural environment is as notorious as white nationalism in the social ecosystem.
