I see each ear painting as an individual portrait; each one having a unique form and color mimicking the individual. We are so accustomed to thinking about the eyes, nose, and mouth when it comes to portraiture but I feel that the ears say just as much if not more. When they're grouped together, similarities and differences between gender, race, and character are revealed. In a time when people are often separated by physical appearances, a small panel can make you stop and listen.
