Thoryn Ziemba

West End, NC

Thoryn Ziemba was born in West Virginia on a small family farm in 1977 and

spent the majority of his life in Pensacola, Florida. He began working in a hot glass studio in 2000 and the experience introduced him to a material he would base his artistic practice upon.

He attended the The Appalachian Center for Craft and as a student earned a Niche Award for Sculptural Glass and upon graduating a Windgate Fellowship. The Windgate Foundation and The Center for Craft Creativity and Design would serve as future partners and facilitators of his endeavors. Thoryn exhibits throughout the United States and Internationally. His past professional experience includes working on projects for The Pretentious Beer Glass Company, Richard Jolley, and Paul Marioni. He has also spent time working at the Pilchuck Glass School in Stanwood, Washington as the Cold Shop Coordinator. Thoryn Is currently the Production Manager for STARworks Glass.
