After receiving his Bachelor of Fine Art in ceramics from Colorado State University Keith spent a year as a resident student at the Philadelphia College Of Art (now the University of the Arts) where he prepared a portfolio for graduate school. Upon receiving his Masters in Fine Art from Cranbrook Academy of Art Keith moved to Columbia South Carolina to take an adjunct position at the University of South Carolina. A move in 1990 brought him to Charlotte, NC to teach at Central Piedmont Community College.
Keith Bryant joined the Art and Art History Department at the University of North Carolina, Charlotte in 2000 as a lecturer where he taught ceramics, sculpture, and three-dimensional design to 2021 when he retired from teaching. His sculpture has addressed ideas of loneliness, isolation, architecture, and landscape. His work has been shown nationally and is in corporate collections through the southeast and mountain states.
