Weldon Ryan (b.1962) was born in The Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, W.I. He graduated from the H.S. of Art and Design 1981 and attended the State University at New Paltz, 1981-82. Ryan is a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology in 1985. A.A. in General Illustration. He has worked as a freelance comp artist for Ad Agencies and Illustrations for publications. He worked as NYC Urban Park Ranger with the development of Pelham Bay Nature Center in the Bronx. In 1989 Ryan was a Detective for NYPD as a Police Officer and was a Forensic Artist from 1994 until his retirement in 2004. He now resides in the City of Palm Coast, Florida with his wife Richlin Burnett-Ryan, who is also an artist. Ryan works primarily in oils. He is also a photographer and blogger and sculpts using oil-based clay as a side interest. He is the foremost painter of Caribbean Culture featuring the works of West Indian Carnival revelers with other significant paintings about the Caribbean Diaspora.
