Growing up, I always looked forward to trips to the gas station with my family. In my eyes it was just as magical as a candy store. Sometimes my mom would send me and my brother in with a few dollars to buy a snack/soda... and I remember always walking in feeling overwhelmed with both joy and choices. I wanted to create a piece that reflected the feeling of being greeted with an eye-level monstrous wall of snacks... A bit exciting and a bit overwhelming. My original reference photo was taken in a gas station near my parents’ house (where I grew up) in Joelton, Tennessee.
