Visual artist and educator, Kirsten Sadler, takes inspiration from her roots and creates work that challenges the adversities of the Appalachian region. Her body of work consists of multiple series highlighting social and political issues of the region. As a proud Appalachian, her work is created to inspire critical commentary on current issues.
Sadler received her B.F.A. in Painting from Marshall University in 2013, she earned her M.A. in Art History from George Mason University in 2016, and she obtained her M.F.A in Painting and Drawing from Radford University in 2019. Currently, she is an art instructor at Rockingham Community College in Wentworth, NC. Her work has been exhibited throughout the Appalachian region.
