I am an artist, educator and co-owner of Stone Cloud Studio. As a first-generation American, public television was a powerful early childhood influence. Growing up in the Midwest, the oldest of five kids to Vietnamese speaking parents, Sesame Street was my first ESL teacher and Bob Ross, my first painting instructor. Throughout my career, I have worked in a range of media and formats, exhibiting and creating public art locally, regionally and nationally. Access to art is extremely important to me, making public art has been a main focus for the last decade. Art is for all, whether you can afford it or not. As an artist I strive to make work that moves, comforts, challenges, celebrates, relates and reminds us that we are more alike than we are different. I want my work to honor the beauty of diversity, highlight the power of interconnectedness, promote inclusive dialogue to build empathetic communities, because we are happier and stronger together.
