Kevin Curry

Tallahassee, FL

Kevin received his BFA in Graphic Communication from the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan, and his MFA in Sculpture from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL., and is currently a Teaching Professor and the Area Head of Sculpture at Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL, where he teaches Digital Foundations, Sculpture, and Graduate level courses.

Kevin’s work delves into the geography of language, communication, and memory, exploring the found nature of the original and the power of the “do-over.” The tedious and meditative aspect of his hand-built work denies the immediacy of electronic devices with which we capture and ultimately view, display, and relive our experiences.

Besides numerous private collections and solo and group exhibitions, Kevin’s work

has also been presented in the form of multiple public art commissions.
