Jonathan Bolton

Jonathan Bolton's drawings explore a reconciliation with discomfort by embedding middle-American sites of respite into embodied, unknown spaces. His work questions the barriers of social and spatial perception through the fusion of figures, objects, space, and time. Jonathan has exhibited work in solo, juried, and curated exhibitions in Greenville, Greenwood and Rock Hill, SC including Artisphere's 2022 Artist of the Upstate Juried Exhibition. In York County, SC he conducted an artist talk for York County school district titled Portraiture: Then and Now. Additionally, his works I Won't Be Laid A Hand On and Conversationalist were exhibited at The Arts Center of Greenwood's South Carolina Festival of Flowers Juried Art Show. He earned his Bachelor of Fine Art from Winthrop University and is on track to earn a Master of Fine Art from Clemson University. Jonathan is based in Greenville, SC.
