Martha Whittington received her BFA in Sculpture from the Kansas City Art Institute. She received her MFA in Sculpture from Tyler School of Art. Ms. Whittington has been the recipient of artist residencies at Bemis Center in Omaha, Nebraska, Hambidge Center- Creative Arts in Rabun Gap, Georgia, TransATLantic GALLERY twenty-four in Berlin, Germany, Vermont Studio Center in Johnson, Vermont, and Chateau d'Orquevaux in France. In support of her work, Ms. Whittington has received grants from Idea Capital, MOCAGA, and OCA Atlanta. She has exhibited her work both nationally and internationally with shows at Moot Gallery in Hong Kong, Museum of Contemporary Art in Jacksonville, Florida, Museum of Contemporary Art Georgia, and the AMOA-Laguna Gloria in Austin, Texas, Hunter Museum of American Art in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Dance Kamera in Istanbul, Turkey. Her work is held in the High Museum of Art, Museum of Contemporary Art Georgia, and private collections nationally.
