Artist Statement

I am a multi-disciplinary artist. I use both 2D and 3D materials to visually document the emotional, social and environmental energies I encounter. I create intricate organic surfaces that reflect my deep respect for the natural world around me. I transform found objects and household plastics into paintings and wall sculptures pointing attention to the the world’s plastic plague. My Breathe body of work speaks to the time of Covid and “I Can’t Breathe”. The worlds social, environmental and political crises crashed together in that word, and the project “Breathe” became a way to transforms my fears, angers, and uncertainties into visually spirited collection of work. The purpose of this work is to advocate for taking a good hard look and consider realities beyond your own truth; to the participation in something bigger, more universal; be curious about something…to ask what’s reality beyond my Breath.
