Martha Clippinger is an artist based in Durham, NC. She has had recent solo exhibitions at Elizabeth Harris Gallery (NYC), Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens, Institute 193 (Lexington, KY), and at The Columbus Museum in her hometown of Columbus, Georgia. Her work has been featured in The Brooklyn Rail, Hyperallergic, Burnaway, and Architectural Digest. She is the recipient of Arts & Industry Fellowship at Kohler Co., a Durham Arts Council Grant in Craft, a Purchase Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, and a Fulbright-Garcia Robles research grant completed in Oaxaca, Mexico. She has been a resident at MacDowell Colony, Edward Albee Foundation, and Marie Walsh Sharpe Foundation and has taught workshops at Penland School of Craft. Her work is in public collections, including Duke University, the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art, and The Columbus Museum. Clippinger is represented by Elizabeth Harris Gallery in New York and Hodges Taylor in Charlotte, North Carolina.
