"The Realization of Eve" is an ink drawing on paper. Crosshatching is used to develop value and provide depth to the drawing. The images are symbolic and convey a story, which is reflective of my work in general. My work is bound to social and environmental issues that I find important. The drawing shows a woman confined to a physical space that houses the solid ideas society has built for the whimsical notions of God and heaven. The female figure in the drawing is breaking free from her binding to see her true self for the first time. The crow participates in her discovery with the crow representing nature. She sees a version of herself in the mask on the broken earth, she has no arms to totally free herself because she has been dubbed as helpless for so long. She is only seen as an incubator for another human being, her life valueless. There is a bird ship in the top left-hand corner. It is a ship full of men who have made the rules for her life and rejoice in her deformity.
