At its simplest, it's a beautiful hangout spot; something you'd plop in your backyard if you had the money and space. You should want to stop and dwell here. Take a selfie, be surrounded by a structure that is playful and beautiful, feel like you're somewhere magical for a moment. A place that asks you to stop for a moment and just be. "A Gathering While Everything Flows" conception is in direct opposition to "hostile architecture," a concept of public infrastructure designed to inhibit the gathering of people. This project creates a communal space in order to encourage engagement by providing a place to gather and foster community, also offering a place to rest and recharge, or enjoy and engage. This installation can't address the web of societal failings and falterings that leave us in this present moment, but it can ask you to imagine a world where we are all stewards of shared beauty.
