I am a fourth-generation female artist. The legacy of women art makers in my family is the main influence on myself as an artist. My mother, grandmother and great-grandmother all have consistent themes in their art that I find reflected in mine: beauty, color, patten, flora and fauna.



I love to create something that not only has use, it has beauty. I use cloth, to create beautiful landscapes that draw you in to explore. I use traditional materials and methods to create items linked to the past but all are products of the present. Cutting cloth, stitching, beading, these are things that my grandmother taught me as a little girl. Illusions, color explosions, tiny details, these are the things that my mother has taught me. Pattern, using animals in compositions, these I saw executed in my great-grandmothers work.



I currently reside in Columbia, South Carolina, where I am helped daily by my three four legged Studio Assistants, Bear, Lil Bit and Buttercup.
